Shindig dance to the live accompaniment of fiddle, banjo, guitar and double bass. Mike Pritchard one of the finest fiddle players and teachers in the area plays lead fiddle along with other local musicians. The dancing is Appalachian Clogging, the music is " American Old Time" and the end result is both exciting and uplifting. It is immensely popular whenever performed in public. Shindig has performed at many events including The Glastonbury Festival, The Cornish Bluegrass Festival, The Eden Project, Porthleven Food Festival, Penzance Mazey Day and Lafrowda Festival.
Shindig practice weekly at Pendeen Parish Hall from 6.30 - 7.30 pm every Wednesday. If you would like to learn to dance or to play in the band please click here Thank you Ade Keast & Stuart Carter for the banner dance and band pictures. |
